Neighbor Fest

A Caribbean-Brooklyn block party, given the polish of a real brand

Neighbor Fest website

Neighbor Fest is a one-day NYC community festival with the soul of a block party. We built it a single-page site that carries that energy end to end — a bold, dark editorial page that tells the story, captures its Caribbean-Brooklyn spirit, and sells tickets without ever feeling like a generic event template. Checkout lives on the festival's own domain, so the moment someone decides to come and the moment they buy happen in the same place.

The Brief

A one-day community festival needed a home online — one that felt as alive as the day itself. The organizers weren't looking for a listing on someone else's platform or a form buried under a stock-photo header. They wanted a page that looked and felt like a real brand: something that could stand next to the culture it celebrates and hold its own.

The core tension was clear from the start. The site had to have the loose, joyful energy of a neighborhood block party, and the finish of a brand people trust with their credit card. Most event sites pick one and sacrifice the other. This one couldn't.

The Challenge

Community festivals almost always get funneled into templated event pages — the same layout, the same third-party ticket widget, the same anonymous feel regardless of what the event actually is. That approach flattens exactly the thing that makes a festival worth attending: its character.

There was also a practical break in the path to purchase. The typical setup sends an interested buyer off-site to a separate ticketing page the moment they're ready to commit — a hand-off that cools intent and dilutes the brand right at the point of sale. The work was to keep the festival's identity intact and keep the buyer home from first scroll to confirmed ticket.

Our Approach

We built the whole experience around the organizer's own festival watercolor, treating it as the centerpiece rather than decoration. That single piece of art set the tone for everything else: a dark, editorial canvas, big display type, and mural-bright accents that echo the festival's visual world.

Motion does real work here. A live countdown turns the date into anticipation you can feel, and sections animate as you move down the page so the story unfolds with momentum instead of sitting flat. Real event photography grounds the energy in something true — this is a real day, with real people, in a real place.

The decisive call was on ticketing. Rather than push buyers to an external checkout, we embedded first-party purchasing on the festival's own custom domain, so the entire decision-to-purchase arc happens without ever leaving the site.

What We Built

A responsive single-page festival site, engineered to feel like the event before you've arrived and to work as well on a phone on the subway as on a desktop at home.

  • A responsive one-page site with a live countdown, animated sections, and real event photography
  • Embedded Ticket Tailor checkout served from the festival's own domain, keeping the purchase on-site
  • SEO, Open Graph, and Schema.org Festival markup so the page surfaces well in search and shares cleanly on social
  • Launched live on its own custom domain and verified across desktop and mobile

Why It Works

The design earns attention and the structure spends it well. The art, the type, and the motion do the emotional work of selling the day; the on-site checkout removes the friction that usually sits between wanting to go and actually holding a ticket.

Because intent and purchase happen in the same place, the ticket path is frictionless precisely because it never leaves home. The page doesn't just describe the festival — it behaves like one, and then lets you commit without breaking the spell.

It feels like the festival before you've even arrived — and the ticket path is frictionless precisely because it never leaves home.
